Installing Oracle 7.2 on IRIX

I have installed and successfully used Oracle on HPUX. We are now moving our database to a SGI Indy running IRIX 5.3.

I have a problem though. As soon as I try to start the orainst program I get a message about it not being able to find the libsockets.so shared library. Should this exist in a standard IRIX release? We haven't modified this system so it's strange that it's missing. Do I need to set a special path?
