Despite what you may be led to believe, the only effective way to establish color on a button is by making it iconic and associating a colored .ICO file with it. Thi is very limiting, since standard ICO files are no bigger than 36 x 36 pixels. Oracle needs to get its GUI act together and add support for BMP files on buttons and get ALL listed attributes functional for the objects provided (not to mention full containership support).
