Hi Jay,

My company provides a product called SimbaExpress. (here's the sales blurb) It provides ready-to-run ODBC access to Oracle (and other databases) w/o having to install SQL*net on every desktop. We use a standard tcp/ip stack that connects our thin client to an ODBC driver on the Unix server. Should save you some hassles from having to install, configure, and maintain SQL*net.
