Personal Oracle versus Oracle for WorkGroups, etc

I am starting a small business - a mail order business - that I intend to grow into a large business eventually. I was going to start off with MS Access for my database program, but a friend told me that on a LAN as you get busier and add more operators and such, that ACCESS is not stable - it crashes - and gets slow also. He said that there are versions of the Oracle products for a PC - standalone is Personal Oracle, and if you have multiple operators with a shared database then you get Oracle for WorkGroups (win 3.11, is that it?).
It seems like if Oracle is my long-term future, if I get big, then it is a good way to start now. How hard is it to setup a reasonably good MLM (Mailing List Manager) using these Oracle products? Do either or both work with Win95? What is the best setup for startiing out with just 1 or 2 operators? Can Personal Oracle be networked, or am I required to use Oracle for WorkGroups (what are the differences?). Is there a FAQ for this newsgroup?
Thanks, thanks, thanks!
