Question about X-terminals running Oracle Applications

Our site has plans to relocate to a new building. We will have approximately 230 PCs and 100+ X-terminals. The X-terminals will be new to our site and are unsure of exactly how Oracle will run in regard to them. If anyone can provide any insight into running Oracle applications on X-terminals, it would be appreciated. For instance, can same Oracle application written for Windows environment work on a X-terminal? What kind performance and problems may we expect? If anyone can reference some documentation we may wish to check out that would help too.
Our current version of Oracle RDBMS is 7.1.4. Our server is a SUN running Solaris 2.4.
