AUS: Sydney-Hobart Race

Just wondering if the Telstra Sydney to Hobart yacht race is getting the enormous press coverage it is getting down under?

Larry Ellison has his pet yacht, Sayonara in the race and has on board, Rupert Murdock the media tycoon. Sayonara is one hell of a maxi, its sails are one piece and made from a cast. The yacht is made from composite materials and is flying with a truly international team from USA, Canada and NZ. Believe me when I say Larry did not spare anything when he gave the designers a free hand at building his yacht.

It was very impressive when Sayonara set thier spinnaker just outside Sydney's head. It was a white spinnaker with the Oracle name on it. After 34 hours, Sayonara is at the front of the fleet. If you are interested in seeing the race from a camera on Sayonara the URL is
