Forms 4.5.6 Reference...conundrum

I'm perplexed. I've been struggling with a Forms 4.5.6 'reference' issue for some time that I have yet to resolve. Perhaps someone can help. There appears to be a bug in the product that I have been unable to circumvent. I'm not positive about this though.
I have a 'std.frm' which contains a toolbar with underlying buttons, properties and code. These toolbar objects are grouped into a Forms object group. This group is in turn 'referenced' elsewhere in other forms. Most of the referenced functionality comes across to the new form but not all of it much to my dismay.
I'll go in and make some subtle changes to the main std.frm such as the positioning of the buttons. I'll then save and close it. A working form will be open and recompiled in hope that these new 'referenced' iobject group changes will now be reflected within. They are not! The working form seems to impose it's own nature about how it wishes to imposition these newly referenced buttons. There is nothing in the native working form itself to suggest that it owns the buttons outright, therefore placing them independantly of the "std" referenced form. Help, if you can. I've tried most things I can think of.
Thanks in advance.
