   I've been told that Designer/2000 Release 1.1 contains a vast (6-8 times) performance improvement for the forms & reports generators. (Apparently someone left a bit of debugging code lying around inside).

   In your case it sounds like the generator went into an endless loop. It has happened to me a few times when trying to generate menu modules. I've yet to pin down a cause or solution.
