We have also seen slower connect time on PCs using SqlNet 2 (comparing to SqlNet 1 ). The Unix connect time for both SqlNet 1 and 2 is ok (equal).

I tried the above change (hard coding IP addresses) and it DOES speed up connect time by at least 30% ! But, a connect time of 26 seconds still seems too slow .

If anyone else has any suggestions, please let me know (E-Mail or posting).

Note: Our environment is Server: 7.1.3 SqlNet: 2.1.4.1.4 TCP/IP

      Adapter 2.1.4.1.3 PC/TCP 3.1 ...
