While I appreciate Paul's offer (and everyone else should, too!), I must say here that after two days of experimenting I was/am successful in using netman to configure my SQL*Net v2 network. Admittedly, this is a single protocol (TCP/IP) network and relatively simple to configure, but nonetheless, I'm satisfied with the tool.

Most of the two days was spent understanding the concepts involved. Another half day was spent figuring out that SQL*Net really wanted the /etc/hosts file and the tnsnames.ora files to match up.

Oh, yes, our network is twelve SPARCstations running Solaris 2.4 and Oracle 7.1.6, with SQL*Net v2.1.6.1.0 and Network Manager 2.1.6.0.0.
