The answer is yes and maybe no. You didn't say what platform you are running on. SQLDBA does allow you to retrieve previous commands and edit them. I don't remember how because I cannot do it from my setup. I am accessing a V7.0.16 on HP-UX through an xwindow on my PC. I have never been able to get the key maping right so I lock up if I try to use some of the fuctions. It works fine from the HP console but I hardly ever use it.

I have just begun to use the new Server Manager which is replacing SQLDBA and has a Motif interface. This works great and allows you to point and click with the mouse too!

I am sure someone else will post the correct instructions for editing. I just wanted you to know how your setup effects your results. I would suggest that you use SQLPLUS instead of SQLDBA for your long queries. I only use SQLDBA for startup, shutdown, monitoring and only a few other commands. There are only a few things that SQLPLUS cannot do so use it whenever possible.
