Can SQL*Net (version 2) handle a host that has more than one network interface?
eg.
myhost has two ethernet interfaces.
Interface 1 has address 123.456.789.1
Interface 2 has address 123.456.789.2
When I issue a 'connect' to myhost, is SQL*Net smart enough to attempt to connect to the second address if the first is unreachable?
This would be very useful in eliminating a possible point of failure. ie. a network interface going down.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Where, if anywhere, in the Oracle docs is this mentioned?
Please post or mail a reply.
Thanks,
Tony Cook
