Hi Folks
Here is some additional information to yesterday's help request:

We have an IBM RISC 6000 59H (7013) server, running AIX 3.2.5 and we are having problems loading and creating an Oracle server. We are trying to create and Oracle Server version 7.1.6 and we get an error creating certain files.

We called Oracle support and they have not responded yet.

The error occurs during the make file, the information is

 "Linking error. NT driver table (ntcontab) not made. Check the log file"

and then "Updating Oracle Drivers" this following error occurs

 "Linking error. Oracle driver table (osntab) not made. Check the log file"

We don't know why it is trying to load NT drivers or it may not be MS Windows NT.

When we look in the log file we find this error:

Updating ORACLEdriver table
(make -f oracle.mk ORACLE_HOME=/u01/home/oracle/product/7.1.6 /u01/home/oracle/product/7.1.6/lib/osntab.o)
	/u01/home/oracle/product/7.1.6/bin/genosntab -c > osntab.s
	as -o osntab.o osntab.s

Assembler:
osntab.s line 6: 1252-016 The specified opcode or pseudo-op is not valid.

        Use supported instructions or pseudo-ops only. make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.

Make Quitting.

The first 10 lines of the osntab.s file looks like this:

#
# This File Is GENERATED By genosntab on AIXRIOS.
#

        .rename H.12.NO_SYMBOL{RO},""

	.lglobl  H.12.NO_SYMBOL{RO}
	.globl   osntab{RW}
	.extern osnftt{DS}
	.extern osntns{DS}
	.extern osnptt{DS}
	.globl    osndfn{RW}
	.globl    osndfh{RW}

----------------------------------------------------------------

We are lost with this problem and wondered if anyone else has experienced thesse symptoms and what was the fix.

Any help on what the remedy to this problem would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
