Several people have asked me exactly what the parameters are for stabilizing a Windows client accessing an Oracle server on Netware. Of course, these parameters are for stabilizing Windows and Netware, and are unrelated to any Oracle crashing, but since Oracle tools stress the protocols more heavily than NCP/IPX normally does, you'll be more likely to experience stability problems when using the Oracle tools.

These parameters should be in the SYSTEM.INI file:

[386Enh]
SystemROMBreakPoint=false
32BitDiskAccess=on ; off for laptops or strange devices VirtualHDIRQ=FALSE
OverlappedIO=OFF
EMMExclude=A000-FFFF ; the network card range and any peripherals ReflectDOSInt2A=TRUE
TimerCriticalSection=10000
PSPIncrement=5
UniqueDOSPSP=TRUE
device=vtda.386 ; requires this file, and removal of device=*vtd ; device=vshare.386 ; include if SHARE is not loaded network=*vnetbios,vnetware.386,vipx.386 ; if the network is installed properly, this will already be here

Notes:
The swapfile should always be on a LOCAL drive. The TEMP DOS environment variable should be set to a LOCAL directory. ALL Novell updates to the requestors must be applied; including DOSUPx, and the latest DLL's.
Shell DLL's and Requestor DLL's MUST not be mixed. If using SCSI, use SMARTDRV's double buffering, if necessary.
