Hi Netizens,
For several months, I have participated in the "experimental" http://support.us.oracle.com WWW site mentioned above. It contains ONLY the contents of the "SupportNotes" CD-ROM that Oracle ships to customers with "metal" level support contracts. A missing piece is the "bug" database. The nice thing about using the support WWW server is that you don't have to have a CD-ROM drive and you don't need to use OracleBook (Windows?).
(Please do not confuse
http://www.oracle.com /* open to the public */ with http://support.us.oracle.com /* experimental, requires registration */)
There are really nice directories of Alerts, Bulletins, the Quarterly Support Newletters, etc.
"Metal" support customers can send email to comet_at_us.oracle.com to inquire about registering as a participant of the support WWW "experiment". He will need your CSI, IP address, Name, Phone number, etc.
In LAN Times magazine last week, there was an article that mentioned that 40 (yes, FOURTY) internal WWW servers had been set up at Oracle recently!!!
Have a nice datum,
EP
