Our local rep has stated that in Canada, Designer 2000 will not be ported to Motif etc. because the code was written for Windows only. He said the design team was under time contraints to get something out so they wrote it for Windows. He feels that Oracle won't port Designer 2000 any time soon. As for Developer 2000, we were told that the Motif port is comming in June of 95 for Sun OS and Solaris at first. No scheduled date was set for other UNIX ports.
My beef with Oracle is that they have announced there will not be any run-time fees charged for Developer 2000 for Windows but that there will be a US$180.00 charge for Motif and Mac versions. Get your act together Oracle!!. I can see that you are charging after the Windows market but don't forget the rest of us. Received on Thu Mar 30 1995 - 00:00:00 CEST
