A repost of the FAQ announcement:

From: dtb_at_bf.rmit.edu.au (David Bath) Newsgroups: comp.databases.oracle
Subject: FIXED: FAQ address
Date: 16 Feb 1995 04:20:52 GMT
Organization: Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Australia.

I recently became aware of problems with the alias of the FAQ. My local sysadmin goofed. Can't complain - he has enough on his plate. Here follows the usual announcement.

The General Oracle FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) is available from the following location on the World Wide Web:

Actual URL: http://www.bf.rmit.edu.au/~dtb/orafaq/contents.html Alias URL: http://www.bf.rmit.edu.au/Oracle

If you do not have direct Web access, you can mail listserv_at_www0.cern.ch with "send http://hostaddress/directory_and_filespec", who will mail you the appropriate page, with hot-links explicitly spelt out, so you can order them later!

For example: (under UNIX System V)

mailx listserv_at_www0.cern.ch <<!
send http://www.bf.rmit.edu.au/~dtb/orafaq/v7_1.html
send http://www.bf.rmit.edu.au/~dtb/orafaq/books.html
!

If you need help on this mailing facility from the web, send "help" in the body of the mail to listserv_at_www0.cern.ch.

The Anonymous FTP area (ftp://ftp.bf.rmit.edu.au/pub/Oracle/) also contains a nearly up to date version of most of the pages in the FAQ:

ftp://ftp.bf.rmit.edu.au/pub/Oracle/www/ Every now and again these are zipped up to

ftp://ftp.bf.rmit.edu.au/pub/Oracle/FAQ/orafaqwww.zip Older flat-ascii versions of the FAQ together with DBA FAQs are in

    ftp://ftp.bf.rmit.edu.au/pub/Oracle/FAQ

The FAQ contains pointers to archives of some sources contained within the FTP area.

Please mail me (dtb_at_bf.rmit.edu.au) if you note errors, have comments or wish to contribute a source script or some comments in your areas of expertise.

If you wish to show appreciation, you can send a pretty postcard to my daughter Kate (who is nearly 8)

Those cards received already have tickled her pink! Thankyou.

Regards,
David
