What are you viewing/printing the spool file with? The file should be a plain ASCII file. To check, open a DOS window and examine the file with edit (fixed font editor). BTW, this only works if your file is less than 64K. I'll bet you will see plain 'ol letters.
The solution is to use an editor which works with fixed fonts. a good shareware one is WinEdit from Wilson WindowWare.
