I, too, attempted to use Oracle's tool to configure the variuos required files, mostly because I didn't want to read the Network Admin Manual and also because the documentation is full of warnings that if you don't use the configuration tools you won't be supported.
In the end, though, I found the configuration tools to be needlessly complicated, unless your network structure is already complex. I found that reading a couple of chapters in the Network Admin Guide and doing it all by hand was much less painfull. It's really not that hard. Received on Sun Mar 12 1995 - 22:51:49 CET
