ORACLE 7 Install on SCO

Wait a minute. You asked Oracle a question, IGNORED the answer, and then still have the balls to to ask here?

GEEZ! Set SHMMAX to 5MB. According to MY manual, it should be around 20MB. Do you know what it is for? It's the MAXIMUM amount of memory that a program can use as shared memory. This is where Oracle stores it's SGA, and needs to be at least as large as BUFFERS + SHARED SQL size. 512KB is not even close. Received on Fri Oct 07 1994 - 02:08:00 CET
