HI there,

is there anybody using the cost-based optimizer and mts on a HP9000 i70 / HP-UX 9.00 / Oracle 7.0.16.6?

Because when we turn it on we run into errors like:

for the CBO: ORA0600 [18999] ... sql-statement crashed

and for the MTS: please take a look at the following

Dump file /usr/spool/apps/oracle/t7/log/user/d001_27189.trc ORACLE7 Server Release 7.0.16.6.0 - Production With the procedural, distributed, and Parallel Server options PL/SQL Release 2.0.18.1.0 - Production
ORACLE_HOME = /tools/oracle
ORACLE_SID = U7

Oracle process number: 10 Unix process id: 27189
System name:	HP-UX
Node name:	peanuts
Release:	A.09.00
Version:	U
Machine:	9000/897

network address used is (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=ipc)(KEY=U7)) network error encountered connecting to listener: network err 'LOSTCONTACT'

   nsresnr    = 12206
   nsresns    = 12547
   nsresns2   = 0
   nsresnt[0] = 517
   nsresnt[1] = 32
   nsresnt[2] = 0

I called oracle technical support and their advise was not to use it (either cbo nor mts), which is kind of unsatisfactory to me.

I can live without these features, still I'm wondering if there's anybody using the same hardware/software who did not encounter these little problems.

thanx and bye,

Andre v Winssen
