In this case, I think that the product offered to the customer over the next 3-5 years will be much better than what would have been offered in the same time frame if Rdb remained status quo in Digitals software world. The deal is not for just the software, but the engineers, the support people, the people that documented the product, wrote courses....etc. The *exact same* person will be handling a customer support call tomorrow as today.
