We are using Oracle V 7.0.15 and CASE TOOLS V 5.1 for MS windows.

We are running a slightly different model. In place of the the Sun/Solaris box, we are using an HP9000/837. This should not be different as far as you are concerned.

All seems to be fine. The only draw back is the entity diagramer is only available for the HP. I have not seen a graphical entity modeler(sp?) for the PC. For this you will need to buy a X windows package for the PC to be able to get to the hp or sun to run the casedes.

The Case tools for the PC are good. We are using a HP 486/66 with 16MB of RAM and 450MB HD. The more RAM the better I recommend a graphics card either inegrated or something like the stealth with 1MB. Also recommend a 17" monitor. Not a requirement but help if you are planning on doing a lot of development. I would not buy anything less than a 486/50.

There are some quirks to the windows tool set. Then I come from a pc/win background. The way some of the screens operate on the analysis and design modules could be better. IMHO, These are quirks. They're probably fine to the person who's been using ORACLE for some time. I've heard they've fixed/enhanced some of the features in the next release.

PS. Make sure you have a good network model for the PC's. If you have
