What is my Oracle password if I set up my accounts (in Oracle 7 on   Netware) as

CREATE USER OPS$HOLOWCZAK IDENTIFIED EXTERNALLY;    With Oracle tools (SQL*Plus or SQL*Forms for example) the check is    made against the Netware bindary when either no Username/Password    is given or if the '/' character is given.

In any case, several people suggested using a '/' for both Username    and for Password. This way, ODBC is happy because you have typed    something in for both fields. Then Oracle must somehow resolve    the '//' it gets into a single '/' as in the above case.

This trick seems to work with most tools save the tricky    process control software I'm trying to get this to work with.    My solution for the present has been to create the primary user's    account "normally" with a username and password. This seems to be    OK for now because e does not use other tools at present.

Thanks again for all who responded.
