Latest TPC benchmark! SGI Challenge/Oracle7 2050 tpsA
I have come across some information that on a benchmark carried out by SGI (Silicon Graphics) and Oracle using Oracle7. Impressive stuff.
If you are interested, these are just some of the details
SERVER: SGI Challenge XL server RDBMS: Oracle7 TP: Tuxedo Users: 20,840 Total cost: US$11.1M tps-A: 2049.7 $/tpsA: US$5,433 Not cheap
How popular is this box around the world? It is a fairly new player in Australia.
PS: I have no relationship with SGI, am not a customer, own them nothing,
have not been out with them for lunch, blah blah...
PPS: Highest tps-A to date is 3692 DEC RDB on a DEC AXP
