After reading Joe D's post on NW 3.11 and patches I thought it would be a Good Thing if I was to bring our 3.11 server up to the latest and greatest. This is complicated by the fact that we run Oracle7 Server, which distrbutes some Novell patches with their server NLMs, and Mercury V1.0, which has problems with some revs of the CLIB (I know these can be worked around, but I'd rather not have to).
SO...
Does anyone know if I update my server to use the stuff in SEC*.EXE, the patches in 311PATD.EXE and the libs from LIBUP1.EXE wether or not I will break either Oracle7 Server or Mercury V1.0?
Both of these amount to "mission critical" applications around here, so of course I would take all possible precautions before proceeding (backups, notes, etc) but it would give me a Warm Feeling to get the net.wisdom on this subject.
BTW: Has anyone ever run across an Oracle employee that has heard of NetWare?
