ORACLE7/Unix page-swap space

I'm soliciting your experiences in setting up initial and secondary page-swap partitions for ORACLE7 databases (7.0.15) under Unix (V3.2). ORACLE Pub 53134-0293 "ORACLE for UNIX: Performance Tuning Tips" in section VI indicates that 2-4X physical memory is a good starting point. A "reliable" source within ORACLE, which I heard about second hand, suggests 5X is warranted - yikes! I haven't yet received my O'Reilly "ORACLE Performance Tuning" :-(

Help me put your response in context by indicating size of DB (50->100gb), OLTP or DSS, number of users, client-server utilizing SQL*Net, and anything else you feel is relevant to this ORACLE7 novice.
