SQL*Net v2 Config--HELP

For SQL*Net v2.0, where should the file "tnsnames.ora" reside?

I am having trouble running: lsnrctl {cmd} {alias} I receive the following output when I run it:

./lsnrctl status i_tcp1_prcd

LSNRCTL for HPUX: Version 2.0.12.1.0 - Developer's Release on 26-JAN-94 16:23:23

TNS-01101: Could not resolve entry: i_tcp1_prcd
NNC-00401: API initialization failed
 NL-00404: null context

Any ideas what is wrong? I do have the entry "lsnrctl 1525/tcp" in my /etc/services file.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
