I have seen a few demos of Oracle Case tools over the past few years and I think it is a great product. I would like to find out from the user community, what you think of this product, as far as its appropriateness for use as a Upper Case tool. Specifically, we would be using the Case tool to perform Business Enterprise Modeling for our agency. We have lots of Oracle Forms and SQL*Plus scripts etc.., but we also have CICS COBOL programs and various Macintosh and MS-Dos products, such as Foxbase, Microsoft Excel, Filemaker Pro. The biggest requirement for us is for the Case tool to show the impact of a change in one part of our business "model", if another part changes. Which gets to another point - various Case tools model business practices using different representations. From seeing the Oracle Demos, I am under the impression that Oracle's tool is primarily used for developing new Oracle based computer systems and reverse engineering SQL*Forms. Do you think that Oracle Case is the best high-level modeling tool for showing an organziation's enterprise model? Or, are other Case tools more suited towards this aspect? Any opinions on the above, would be most welcome! Thanx for any feedback.
