What you need is serious professional help. (Warning, I'm in the business of giving that help, but I'm much too far away to be of any use to you)

Distributed databases (even in V7) are always slower. Are you trying for full redundancy, or just the ability to recover quickly from a crash? How quickly does your data change? What's the mix of updates to queries? etc, etc?
