   What I did for my class is to create a separate tablespace    for the semester. I called it SPRING_93. All student stuff goes in    there and it fits in one physical file. End of Spring semester,    the tablespace can be dropped (I have not done this yet) and the    datafile removed.

   In your case, I would recommend moving the faculty and other long term    projects over to other tablespaces. This can also aid security.

   If either of these don't appeal to you, do as the other poster    suggested and DROP all of their tables then REVOKE all of    their privilidges. The user names still remain on the    list, they just have no privilidges.
