Last I'd heard, there is a policy at Oracle's internal systems group (who run the big Oracle Sequents and Pyramids and whatnot) that there should be no direct telnet or ftp access into Oracle.

The only machine that was live on the internet at that time was called gatekeeper, and the name says it all -- it can telnet and ftp out, but you can't go in.

However, there may or may not be a machine in the support group that provides this function. There is, for example, a dial-in bulletin board specifically to allow downloading of DOS and OS/2 files from support (this is different from the dial-in to the OnLine Support [OLS] system).

There may or may not be an ftp site that isn't run by Oracle, but I don't know of it.

Sounds like an enhancement request to me...
