I do not know of any published benchmarks on Postgres since it is not a publically released product. There are numerous benchmarks available for Oracle 6 and 7 which I am sure that Oracle reps will be happy to give you. Unfortunately, these benchmarks are pretty meaningless (have no applicability to real situations) and Oracle's licensing agreement precules users from discussing benchmark results. My suggestion is to ask for references on the platform that you intend to run on. This will give you some high-water mark. Also, try to run some of your own references, since individual experiences differ widely.
