Is it possible to develop embedded SQL applications using Borland C++ and Pro*C ? Looking through an old MS-DOS Pro*C manual seems to indicate that only Microsoft C is supported by Pro*C (MS-DOS Pro*C V1.2).
We wish to make changes to a MS-Windows application that currently uses xBase, to use an ORACLE database server on a Sun. The existing system is written in Borland C++. We need to replace the existing "xBase" database classes with "ORACLE" database classes.
We also wish to port this application to Macintosh environment and would like to use MPW C++. Is this possible with Pro*C also? (The Sun will still serve as ORACLE database server).
Any hints for the unwary on embarking on a venture like this are welcome. Any suggestions for alternative strategies also welcome, eg, existing class libraries that are commercially (or otherwise) available.
Thanks,
..Vern..
