We have experienced the same trick!

when you add the line local=T:host:sid in your config.ora, you can always fill hoststring but in the form : T:host:sid and not in the form host. If you fill hoststring with host only you'l got the message ORA 3121 Received on Thu Feb 25 1993 - 17:51:13 CET
