Once again I turn to the wisdom of the Net!
I am having significant performance problems on a database that is roughly one Gigabyte in size. My files are spread out over two disks. We are running on a Pyramid using UNIX flat files. The average size file on each of the disks is about 76M; there are about six files per disk. The smallest file is about 6M; the largest is 200M (with two other files at 150M).
Aside from looking at monitor, etc (which I am doing), I had this thought. Are these file sizes too big to be accessed efficiently? Has anyone else dealt with database files this big and had performance problems directly related to this?
Thanks,
Marianne
