two dates want the difference between them in hours & minutes

	I have two dates I subtract them and then want to get hours and
	seconds in terms of the difference, I know this has to be simple.
	But it's monday-> Brain dead day I guess. I have tried various
	formats of to_date, to_char, etc.. but haven't stumbled upon
	the correct one yet.

	This is a pro_c report which needs to be done asap...the 
	time is what is taking the time:)
	Do I have to put the dates in varchar and process them with
	a c-string date chomping function.  Surely not!
