How to monitor performance?

...so here's the deal.

using Pro*C, doing some _extremely_ IO bound stuff (massive array inserts) and getting little bitty CPU figures
BECAUSE
DBWRITEMON is doing all my IO work for me.

but i am trying to prototype here, and so I need to find out how much work DBWRITEMON is doing on my behalf - in terms of CPU usage and IO stuff.

any ideas?
