Yes, you can do this,

I think your problem is your top level stacked view (I named it cv_stack2) tends to hide under your bottom level stacked view (I named it cv_stack1)?

go to the lay-out editor for your content -canvas (I named it cv_content) go - show stacked views (as you did).

A list will popp up with the two stacked canvasses

If you selected any of the stacked views before they will show blue on your list
get rid of this selection(s) by CTRL-klicking the view(s) (so both are 'white')
press ok
(no stacked views are displayed on cv_content)

Then go show stacked views again
and select both your views like this:

click on cv_stack1 first
and then SHIFT-klick or CTRL-klick on cv_stack2 press ok
That should do the trick,

If not, check to see if the views of the different canvas-view-objects will fit on top of each other. (look at their sizes and position on the content canvas) But I guess you worked that out already

Experimenting on different possibilities to get this done, I found out it really seems to matter if any of the two stacked views is already present on your content-view and this in combination with the order in which you select them can be a bottleneck here.

(Bye the way, the runtime behaviour of your different views to be displayed on top of each other is dependent on a few other things, that have little to do with being able to display them in the lay-out editor)

good luck
