oracle web tools - how do they relate?

[Quoted] There are several oracle tools that adress the task of enabling a web presentation layer for 8i:
- WebDB
  • Application Server
  • Web Application Server
  • Developer

and probably some more (for example, I hear about an Oracle Web Server which I suspect to be the same product as the Web Application Server).

I have some disconnected bits of information on these Products, plus some sales talk in the Oracle web site, but I cannot make them fit together to form a consistent picture for me.

  • How do these products relate?
  • How do they co-operate?
  • Are there combinations of them that make no sense?

What I want to do is create a data warehouse system with 8i and a Web surface. I know about databases and warehouses, but I am new to Oracle (though really impressed about the feature list of 8i).

I appreciate your help:
