why calculated item doesn't get updated to database?

in my form i defined a database display item called total to have the
following properties:
Calculation Mode: Formula
Formula: :inv_ordertail.qty * :inv_ordertail.unitprice
On the screen it changes as when the operands change. But when i commit to database, the total column is empty! Why is this so? Is there another property which i haven't set? Received on Thu Mar 18 1999 - 05:46:27 CET
