We have an application on WinNT 4 that intefaces with a database using OCI with Oracle 8.0.5. Originally, we were using VC5. Unfortunately, you can no longer buy VC5, so we were forced to upgrade to VC6.

That's when the problems started. Our application now crashes regularily. Using Purify we have pinpointed it to an access violation in ORA805.dll. Oracle's position is simply that they do not support VC6. However, other 3rd party software we use recommend that we use VC6.
Has anyone else had similar problems with VC6? Did you find a solution?
Thanks,
Tim.
