SQLREP converting to ORACLE REPORTS

The operation bombs with the following error messages

REP-3300: Fatal error in the object store ROS-29: Error while opening or saving a document

The REX files were created on the VAX and were transferred to the PC via KERMIT. Should I be able to do a straight convert from a REX to a RDF? Any Ideas on what else to check?
