SQL*Plus SPOOL Problem

Using a SQL*Plus variable where previously I assigned the current sysdate, how I can pass it to the SPOOL command? Whatever i tried, it has failed, getting a message saying that it is impossible to create the file.
Is there anyone that can help me?
