You're not alone. It took me awhile to figure this out too. You need to install the WSGL packages into the schema of the user who will own your generated web applications. For detailed instructions, do the following:
- Login to Designer/2000 and click on the WebServer Generator icon.
- Click the help button.
- In the first paragrapch there is a link for 'Generating WebServer Applications'. Click this link.
- In the second paragraph there is a link for 'Setting up the Application User'. Click this link.
- Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click the link for 'WebServer user is set up'.
- Follow all of these directions carefully.
This will prepare the database schema to 'receive' generated applications and will prepare your WebServer to talk to the database.
Now you can use the WebServer generator to turn your modules into PL/SQL packages. Don't forget to 'Generate Server API' for each table that is accessed in your modules.
Be patient. You can do some pretty cool things with the WebServer Generator.
