Our company is about to embark on a project using VB5.0 and ORACLE on a NT server. I have several questions that I hope can be answered by folks that have already been down this path. These are:

  1. What ORACLE tools are a must for our developers (on their development PC's)? PL/SQL?
  2. What db access method do you recommend for a system with 0-50 users? 50-100? 200+ (ODBC, ORACLE OBJECTS,?...)?
  3. Do you recommend extensive use of Stored Procedures and other techniques to offload the client db processing?
  4. Are there any other tools, debugging, networking monitoring, performance tools that you can recommend?
  5. Any recommend resources, on net, or books for me to read.

Sidebar: Our application currently exists in SQL*Forms30, I was pushing an ORACLE*FORMS conversion but was overruled. Frankly, I think its going to take a *ton* of work to rewrite 50+ SQL*forms to VB in 5 months. But hey, when they say jump, I gotta jump.

Thanks in advance,
