Why would you want to do something like that? Is RMAN going to the tape or disk? Is there any other backup tool you are using? Anything like NetBackup, EMC Networker or Tivoli? Oracle has a backup solution which is not free, but essentially competes with the ones listed above. Oracle*Backup is not a very popular solution to my knowledge, Oracle has badly lost the race with Symantec, EMC and IBM, primarily because of the pricing issues.
