EM monitoring templates and notification

I have created a monitoring template in Enterprise Manager. I also have a notification method defined (OS script). Now I want to associate my notification method (OS script) with the monitoring template but can't figure out how.

I can create a notification rule and within this rule assign a notification method (the OS script) and define database metrics - but since I have already defined my database metrics in the monitoring template - I just want to add it instead of defining them again.

Any information would be appreciated.
