This is assuming developers actually know how to write an application properly.
This species has been made extinct by the bean counters. Currently developers don't learn how to develop, they learn how to hit buttons in a GUI.
There are more than enough developers not having any clue what is going on in their application.
On the other hand I can usually pinpoint the general issues in couple of days.
Usually this the moment garbage removers should be called in.
