It all depends on why your performance is lagging now. Upgrading won't relieve any existing i/o contention, it won't relieve any saturation of the i/o channels or the network, it (generally) won't do anything about a poorly designed app or poorly written SQL. Sometime the newer optimizer generates better plans .. but then sometimes it generates worse plans.... Received on Sat Oct 20 2007 - 07:01:05 CDT
